What brought you to coaching with Alex?
I had been diagnosed with depression and Bi-polar. I was finding it increasingly difficult to come into work, I couldn’t walk through the doors, I would be crying all day. I didn’t think I was worth very much to either myself or the company. I believed that my work colleagues didn’t like me and wouldn’t talk to me.
What happened as a result of working with Alex?
Alex gave me the safest space to talk about how I was feeling, what was upsetting me and a space to vent and cry. Alex helped build my confidence about myself, my role, and helped me understand how my work colleagues maybe feeling about me. Alex gave me realistic goals to work towards, for example, just saying hello to one person every day for a week. It was small but made a massive difference. Not only has Alex helped me move forward where work is concerned, she is also helping and is encouraging me with a number of personal goals.
What is it like working with Alex?
I like working with Alex as she is a ray of sunshine. Even on my dark days just a few minutes in Alex’ company cheers me up. Alex has the ability to read me very well and so when she asks a question she knows if I am skirting around the honest answer. She asks questions which allows you to think and explore the situation from all angles. Alex offers a safe space, she is non-judgemental, she is friendly and super fun. Alex is genuinely interested in helping you reach your full potential.
What did you value most about working with Alex?
Time to be able to open up, time to reflect. But I think most of all knowing that Alex is always there cheering me on from the side-lines.
What would you say to someone who was thinking of working with Alex?
I would encourage anyone who wishes to work with a coach to choose Alex. She is amazing at what she does. The time spent with Alex wouldn’t be wasted. She is an incredible asset to anyone.
What’s next for you?
I am still seeing Alex, less about work and more about reaching personal goals, although touching in with an independent person regarding work helps keep me on the right path. I am working towards completing my second (un-published) novel. I am moving from fear of failure and rejection to being excited about just completing it.
What brought you to coaching with Alex?
I felt that I needed some support or mentoring to make progress with my career and move into management. I was often told that I had a lot to offer, but was not successful at interview.
What happened as a result of working with Alex?
Alex helped me with techniques to focus on my strengths and recall them for use in an interview situation. In particular, she encouraged me to write down my ten top work-related achievements, what skills I was demonstrating when I carried them out, plus what would have been the adverse impact on the organisation if I hadn’t completed them. At the my next interview I was successful, due in part to being able to be confident about my personal achievements.
What is it like working with Alex?
Alex was overwhelmingly positive, always suggesting solutions for problems and ways to overcome obstacles. She helped me find clarity around the reasons that things weren’t working for me and gave me the confidence to believe in myself a bit more.
What did you value most about working with Alex?
I felt that she gave me the tools to find my own solutions to moving upwards from my situation.
What would you say to someone who was thinking of working with Alex?
Alex is warm, friendly and bubbly. She makes you feel that you are the centre of her world during the hour that she spends with you. She will empower you to seek the outcomes you hope for.
What’s next for you?
I’d love to have a crystal ball! At the moment I’m focussing on consolidating my position work wise, getting to grips with doing one job well instead of 15 months rushing around trying to cover two management roles and recruit new staff. My home life has a way to go too – struggling through the final throes of a divorce that has been spun out over 7 years. I’m feeling optimistic that I can look forward to a good old cheesy 2020 vision! ☺

The coaching sessions have been very helpful for several members of my team. I have noticed an increase in both confidence and positive outlook. This has benefited not only the individuals, but the wider team. Some staff have been apprehensive about starting the coaching, but within one session have all expressed a desire to continue.
Team Leader Dacorum Borough Council, 2018
I can establish which are the important things to deal with when under pressure. I deal with my workload better and do not get so distracted so easily. I am no longer darting about from one thing to another and not doing anything properly and feeling like I am drowning.

The Mindfulness Course helped me to see things clearly. To look at what is important in my life at the moment. To look at things objectively without all my past history interfering with current decisions.
Mindfulness Client 2018
Using mindfulness I was able to give myself permission to change things, to act in my best interests and to see my current situation more clearly and plan for a future. Thank you once again.
